Dedicated to my Lego loving boys!

Okay - one more post for the day.

This is dedicated to my Lego loving boys.......
Here's the link from Betty Crocker

I have posted so many posts today, so you will have to go to the next page to see them all :o)

Who me? Wow!

I have never had to make an acceptance speech before........ahemmmm (I'm clearing my throat) ........Thank you. (it's in pink because I'm blushing!)

Aimee from Homespun Threads was kind enough to give me this award :o)
Thank you Aimee!

I have soooo many blogs that I love. It's hard to choose which one to give this to. Here are a couple of my new favorites.

Kristen is such a great mom. She plans and does such fun things with her girls and family.

Jodi, Julie (plan it), Shauntell (buy it) and Crystal (eat it) each have very good blogs and have combined to create a blog call Fun with Food Storage.

Wheat bread that tastes like store bought bread....hmmm

Okay - I like whole wheat bread and I even enjoy making it. But my family stills enjoys store bought bread (I still only buy whole wheat bread from the store!). This gal has a recipe for whole wheat bread that tastes like homemade she says. I am going to try this one out. It has some interesting ingredients in it....vinegar and potato flakes?? I can smell that fresh baked bread already :o)

Crockpot Lasagna?

I love my crockpot and I love lasagna....but I never thought of putting the two together! Here is how this young lady did it. Will have to give this one a try.

Pressing Board Video

I was at my Longarm Quilt Guild Saturday and one of the women showed her pressing board that she had made. She pointed me to this video of Sharon Schamber making the board. So here it is for you! It's great to have a board close by when you are sewing pieces for a quilt and this will give you nice clean, crisp pressing lines for your piecing.

Sweet Easter Mini Quilt

bitty bits and pieces is giving away this sweet table topper quilt. It really is sweet. I just love the colors and I hope I win!! I always ask myself why I don't make something like this, but whenever I go fabric shopping, I tend to stray over to the brights or the civil war fabrics. Yet when I see a quilt like this, I really really like it. hmmmmmm....may have to make one if I don't win!

Recycles tins

How cute are these recycled tins?! There are just so many cute scrap book papers and this is a fun way to use up your paper scraps and recycle cans. It's a win/win scenario! Here is the blog where to find her instructions. I really like this idea :o)

How to Turn Blah Buttons into Bodacious Buttons

This site shows how to turn plain little buttons into the cutest little buttons. Buttons have become expensive....at least decorative ones have. This site shows quick and easy ways to customize and decorate buttons.

Hair Clips finally!

I keep seeing the little girls with oooh sooo cute hair clips and have wondered how they were made. Sure - I could have figured it out on my own, but why?? I finally found this lovely lady with a lovely blog with a tutorial!! How great is that??

Coupon and food storage blogs

My friend Kristen posted about her getting her first things for free! I'm so proud of her :o) My daughters have couponed in the past and have done well also. I'm not so good at it :o( But Kristen posted about this blog where she lists deals. Some of them are not in our area, but some you can use anywhere.

PS - I saw Kristen's pettiskirt today and it is just as cute and fluffy in person as it is on her blog! Just thought you'd like to know ;o) (I'm still looking locally for an outlet for the nylon chiffon. If anyone knows of one here in Maryland let me know)

UPDATE

I have found a couple more blogs for couponing and a coupon system that is cheap.

This gal blogs about Couponing but shows not only her little bounties and what she saved, but she has women from across the country contribute.
I have really enjoyed reading her blog and then she has links to this blog done some friends who are really into self-reliant living and they have all kinds of tools to help simplify things. These are all young moms with young families making it work for them and willing to share what they are learning. I LOVE their Excel spreadsheet here for the 3 month supply of meals. In these trying and uncertain times, it is such a peaceful feeling to have the knowledge that you are prepared to feed your family in case of a job lose or any myriad of reasons. Is nice to be self reliant and to know that your family won't go hungry. She has a tutorial on how to use her spreadsheet for her 3 month supply of meals.

1. Choose a celery stick for a trunk
2. Spread peanut butter all over the "tree trunk"

4. Add ABCs all over the tree
5. Eat & Enjoy!

Don't Eat Pete

This gal has a great download for the Don't Eat Pete game! She also describes how she plays it with her kids.

Citrus Patch Throw

I saw this cute quilt on allpeoplequilt.com with instructions. This is an easy yet cute quilt. There are so many fun, trendy fabrics out there that would make up very nicely in this little quilt. It would be easy to make it larger.

Crazy about quilting and this block!

I'm not a fan of the 30's fabric, but these blocks are just toooo happy and I might just have to change my mind to make this one!
This gal is just clever for her own good :o) She gives a very nice tutorial on how to make this block.
